Suspended in the dark, as live bait, 60 feet below the little wooden boat, on steel cables the team wait for the squid to come. Scott and Ellis are in Los Angeles to see if vibrant marine life can exist off the highly developed coast of Southern California.

Swimming through the canyon like fissure of Silfra, which separates two tectonic plates. This water is some of the clearest in the world. Facing frigid waters, the Descending team travels to Iceland to witness the newest part of our planet being formed. History fanatic Scott talks Ellis into diving the shark-infested waters off the coast of the Solomon Islands. This tiny South Pacific nation played a strategic role during WWII and she still has the scars…and wrecks…to prove it.

The wooden ship wrecks in the frigid waters of the North American Great Lakes are like time-capsules to human history. For centuries, the St. Lawrence Seaway and the Great Lakes have shaped the story of Canada.

The teams experience swimming with Giant Manta-Ray's was an incredible experience. In Indonesia, Scott and Ellis experience Raja Ampat — a reserve rich in beauty, diversity and culture. Ellis befriends a local Papuan who teaches him to fish like a local and the divers have a close encounter with Giant Manta Rays.

A terrifying accident shakes the confidence of the team. Some of the most incredible sea life comes in tiny packages, like this Pygmy seahorse standing only 1. Following a terrifying accident, Scott finds the strength to dive again.

The team concludes their year-long journey on the remote island of Vanuatu to dive one of the greatest shipwrecks in the world and reflect on their underwater adventures.

Where can I get the dvd series of your show in South Africa, or can I import it? My dad loves it and I would like to get it for him. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. A big thank you to everyone involved in bringing us Descending. It brought beautiful and extroadinary parts of the world into our living room giving us the chance to experience places that we will probably never have the chance to visit.

Our weekly trip around the world will be sorely missed. Looking forward to the next adventure. I used to watch Ellis back in the day when he was one of the travelers. So it was cool to find out through departures that he and scott new each other. I started watching departures about three years ago. Found it to be very refreshing and Andre, Justin and scott are easy to like. These three guys were doing what most of us dream about but never do.

So for me watching this show is freeing in some way. I even watch reruns. So thanks for educating us guys and be careful out there. Hello, love the show but missed what happened to Scott. Is he ok, what happened? I like the show with Justin as well. What is he doing now, where is he? I miss Scott though. He was funny. Keep your eyes open on Descending Facebook page or their web site. User reviews 3 Review. Top review. Big Disappointment. Don't get me wrong, i knew from the start that this series will be about diving not traveling as Departures was.

The amazing visuals captured and created by the highly talented cameraman Andre Dupuis, the usual excellent narration by Scott Wilson were all there with the same quality as in Departures, but right from the start there was something wrong laying around, OK, Justin was not on this new series, i could accept that, but he was replaced by some bragging guy that i never liked from the New Zealand Departures episode, he can be a very skilled and experienced diver but for a travel companion for Scott, it simply didn't worked and the series just turned into a banal documentary about diving saved only by some good parts here and there when they were not actually diving at all, when Scott was showing us something about the place.

I watched and re-watched Departures, each episode was a true gem, with Descending it was painful sometimes, i even skipped one or two episodes, many parts were just boring A bad option which i hopefully they correct soon, i heard something about departures season 4, so big fans of Departures as me, may get a good surprise soon :.
