Playing sneakily is the aim of the game here, throwing out lightning from afar before retreating to cover. Exceptional in all game-modes, including Heroes vs Villains. Finn is a high damage dealing blaster hero with a mega buff for an ability. Having a powerful side-arm as back-up is great for fighting heroes or multiple troopers at close range. Full of utility, Bossk can be an absolute nightmare to deal with. Catering to all play-styles, you can spam abilities to fill the battlefield with mines and grenades.
Or you can snipe using his secondary fire, which is actually really powerful. Activating his ultimate will reveal all nearby enemies, while granting a grenade launcher that can demolish entire groups of units and heroes! Luke Skywalker is a generalist, providing a perfect balance between offense, defense and mobility. Mostly based around pushing enemies away and rushing to get close to them. Also, his force push allows for some hilarious moments.
Few abilities are as satisfying as pushing an enemy hero and watching them fall to their death! If you want a more chilled Sith experience, Darth Vader is the hero for you. Taking far more damage than any other lightsaber wielder, he does have basically no mobility. Able to call on his rage to increase damage dealt and reduce damage taken, enemies will wonder what they can do as you advance towards them.
Use Darth Vader as a front-line tank, deflecting blaster attacks and earning eliminations via his saber throwing and force choking. This is a melee hero disguised as a support character. Villains with a good team. No character in Battlefront 2 has the same level of mobility as Boba Fett.
Armed with a jetpack and wrist rockets, Boba Fett dominates the sky with a multitude of explosive rockets and his three-round burst rifle. Certain lightsaber and blaster heroes get the job done better. Heroes and Villains is a different story. When paired with his jetpack, Boba Fett becomes a solid anti-hero character. As the first lightsaber hero on this list, Yoda stands as a solid hero for large-scale matches.
His small hitbox and fast movement speed make him a pain to hit. Yoda also has slow lightsaber swings when compared to other heroes, making it easy to block his attacks. He might be a solid hero for carving through infantry, but Yoda becomes much less powerful when you enter Heroes vs. Villains or any lightsaber dueling scenario.
In the right hands, Iden Versio is one of the most frustrating villains to fight against in Battlefront 2. Its alt-fire can pierce enemy guards, and Stun Droid gives her a damage window to fully take advantage of her blaster. With all of that said, her effective range and mobility are limited at best, making it easy to shut down Iden if the enemy gets the jump on you.
Some Battlefront 2 players might be shocked that Finn is this high on the list. In Heroes vs. Villains, Finn is arguably the worst light side hero in the game.
In Galactic Assault and Supremacy, however, Finn is easily the best blaster hero in the game. This dichotomy can be attributed to one thing: Deadeye. In essence, this ability gives you an aimbot for a short duration, forcing your bullets to land on a certain target. Since this automatically applies to a new target when someone dies, Finn can single-handedly clear out the entire enemy team with this ability if you have the right Star Cards equipped.
Out of every lightsaber hero in Battlefront 2, Rey is the easiest to play. She has a fast lightsaber, solid movement options, and Mind Trick—an ability that disorients inexperienced players. Her inability to deal damage through guards hurts her viability in Heroes vs. Villains, and her lack of damage resistance or healing abilities can get you in trouble if you play too aggressively. With that said, her excellent lightsaber attacks and solid ability kit make her one of the best lightsaber heroes for newer players.
Galactic Conquest and Capital Supremacy are great game modes for Leia to thrive in. When paired with a bubble shield that regenerates health to any ally inside, Leia is surprisingly hard to kill and does a good job supporting her team. Leia can also hang in Heroes vs.
Villains thanks to her Thermal Detonators and custom E blaster. Whether in Galactic Conquest or Heroes vs. Villains, Princess Leia is a great hero. Bossk is an underrated blaster villain. Unlike Leia, Bossk is a menace for zoning and controlling parts of the map.
Villains thanks to how much AoE damage he deals. Darth Maul is one of the most fun lightsaber villains in Battlefront 2. He can close the gap in an instant with Spin Attack, damage distant enemies with Furious Throw, and stun unsuspecting enemies with Choke Hold. Simple: bugs. Darth Maul is by far the buggiest character in Battlefront 2, so much so that it actively harms his effectiveness.
Some notable bugs include:. As such, this existing list has been revised to add a few more entries, while re-ranking the characters based on the balance tweaks that DICE has applied to the game over time.
This will likely represent the final official character rankings, unless DICE decides to surprise everyone with brand new content somewhere further down the road. A game that was once deemed an abject failure by many has now become yet another excellent chapter in the Star Wars video game history book. Though some fan-favorite characters didn't quite make it into the game, the impressive selection of heroes and villains who did allow for some fantastic gameplay moments and provide players with plenty of options when it comes to the way that they approach the game's combat.
Some of the game's 22 heroes and villains are a lot more effective in battle than others though. Rey's primary strength does not lie in her abilities, but rather in her skill with a lightsaber.
In terms of melee combat , she's a character that can clear a room if one remembers to strike-and-dash, and repeat the process. When it comes to powers, however, she's a bit on the light side no pun intended. Her Dash Strike ability may be enough to break an enemy line or cause a villain to stumble, but her Insight and Mind Trick leave much to be desired. The former is essentially a glorified enemy tracker, while the latter is only good for enemies directly in her path, and only for a short time.
First introduced in the original Star Wars trilogy , Yoda is one of the most powerful characters in the entire franchise, even if he falls slightly short in Battlefront II. He's still a great hero to use, thanks to his small hit-box, breakneck speed, and diminutive size which makes him incredibly difficult to target.
The character is best used as support alongside teammates. Not only can he weave between friend and foe to take out specific targets, but his Presence ability provides a health and wellness boost for any friendly within its range. He has no block to speak of, instead preferring to absorb enemy blaster fire and eject the energy buildup outwards in a massive Force blast, which is great for taking on a hallway full of enemies. Don't count out Finn when it comes to Heroes.
He's easily one of the best of the newcomers, thanks largely to his blaster-centric attack style. His Undercover Team ability masks the location of himself and his teammates from enemy sensors, allowing them to move up and engage in a surprise attack.
From there, Finn can utilize his Deadeye attack which offers pinpoint firing precision on one enemy at a time, before targeting another. He can also give his teammates a boost with his Big Deal ability, which grants increased health, durability, weapon cooldown, and ability recharge, making him a perfect balance between offensive soldier and support team member.
Thankfully, Bossk has received a few nerfs through the course of the last few years, re-balancing him in accordance with other characters. Before the updates, he was far too deadly a foe for many players to contend with.
In his latest form, Bossk has lost some of his teeth, but he's still a dangerous adversary that should not be underestimated. Bossk's strength lies in his abilities, as opposed to his blaster file. Bossk's Predator Instincts gives him infra-red vision and the ability to pummel foes with micro-grenades that can rack up kills at an insanely high rate.
He can also quadruple the damage quotient by hurling a Dioxis Grenade, which is great for clearing out chokepoints or killing foes in confined spaces. And finally, his Proximity Mines are excellent for defending target areas from enemy incursion, making Bossk a painful threat to contend with.
Battlefront II does a great job of making one feel like they're actually a part of the Star Wars universe. Part of its charm is how the game nails the personalities of key heroes and villains from the franchise. Darth Maul is one of the best examples. This athletic Sith Lord is best used as a strike-and-retreat character who rushes in, decimates foes, and retreats to gather strength.
